The beautiful Cairngorms
Out for a day in the Cairngorms. It takes just an hour to get to Aviemore and although there was heavy cloud the sun came out now and again and the colours just lit up.
First stop was Loch Morlich, beautiful.I had some nuts and sunflower seeds in my pocket so fed the ducks , soo many, so funny to see them all waddling towards me.
Up to the Cairngorm mountain carpark which was covered in ice so abit dodgy getting out of the car.The mountains had a layer of snow over them. We had delicious tomato soup with a warm roll. The snow buntings were in their usual spot near the small waterfall.
The sun was now shinning as we walked along Loch an Eilein.I love the trees on the Loch and if you look closely you can see a little duck on a rock.Lots of other birds around including a goldcrest, bullfinches, coal, blue and great tits and of course a robin.Eventually spotted a red squirrel in a tall beech tree :) It started snowing as we went back to the car and the wind had picked up making the ice crack making amazing sounds.
We stopped at the fudge shop and I had a orange fudge hot chocolate , yummy.
