Thekkady

Two experiences today: a 3 hours walk in the thick, evergreen forest (they also call it jungle here) of the Periyar Tiger Reserve. We had a guide for that (see extra) and saw some animals, although no elephants or even a tiger. Well, we didn‘t miss the last one ... 
Besides that we had to protect us from the leeches and were given protective leggings. It wasn‘t a joke as we collected quite a few of them on the surface of the leggings.

In the afternoon the contrast programme in a very touristic spot, with dozens or even hundred of other tourists (first time we have seen that many since travelling in India). A boat ride on the Periyar Lake and its fascinating landscapes. Our driver organized us front seats on the upper deck and therefore we enjoyed the beautiful views.
