A carpet of leaves

I did not walk Xena this morning - she was collected by P the lovely dog walker and I went to join some friends for a reunion breakfast at The Ivy, which was delicious as always. Perfectly poached eggs on avo was a good way to start the day, and the company was lovely too - we have been friends for over 17 years when our boys were all at school together. 

After the breakfast I had an appointment at the dentist - just a check up but a long appointment as I had x rays and a polish and scale too. 

It was horribly dull and cold today, I did not feel like going out for a second walk today but we went after lunch before it got too dark. There is still plenty of colour about but once all those leaves have fallen and the carpet of leaves turns to trampled-in mud it become quite colourless and dismal.

Some more Christmas shopping online today - slowly making progress!
