beech tree

This tree, the tallest in our garden, is rather like one of the Ents in Lord of the Rings. It has a beautiful twisty trunk, seen at it's best in snow.

The snow started to fall at about 8 this morning, and has continued ever since. I hate driving on snowy roads, but had promised to take Youngest Son into town. He and his friends are watching all three Lord of the Rings films, one after the other, at the small Robert Burns cimema in Dumfries. I hope to be able to return to town tonight to fetch him home, and to see (with my friends) Les Miserables at the Odeon.

The snow is falling quite thickly..so it could be a bit of a Quest.
