Kalanchoe

We bought this (at the time of purchase it looked like this) in October 2017.  We bought it in an attempt to have a plant that looked something like this.

In itself, the plant we now have is quite impressive, but it certainly hasn't been successful in replicating the original.  And what happened to the red tinge on the leaves?

I think it may need more light, and something I read on the internet suggests that growing up like this may be because we have been too generous with the water.  I see it has a little baby developing at the base - I think we should harvest that, and have another go.
