What is it ?

Seen in a local Bric Brac shop this afternoon. I think it may be some sort of Bread slicer all you Downton Abbey followers was it in thier Kitchen.
It wasn,t an Antique shop but caught my eye I guess somebody else took a shine to it because its been sold.
