FlowerFriday22_2019 Not so rosy...

These beautiful pink blooms were the only rosy thing in a very grey day today.  At 7.30am we had a power cut which meant that house hadn't had time to warm up and hot water was very limited.  Originally we were told that we may not have power until mid afternoon as the fault was serious and generators needed to be brought in.  In the event they managed to install the huge mobile generators  in our street and get power restored by midday. 
Of course discomfort isn't the only downside of a power cut: it means no landline phone, no internet, no laundry, no vacuuming.. we certainly do rely on it to conduct our daily lives.  The outage here covered a wide area and even, horror of horrors, our local Waitrose was closed!

This evening Violet is having another sleepover with us, the fourth this week and she is delighted!  When she was living here, she wasn't so keen on our house,  'too big' but now that she has her own home again, she is eager for sleepovers here.
