Views through the Kitchen Window

I really hoped I might be able to hobble out to our deck today and get an image that wasn’t taken through a layer of window glass. But it wasn’t to be. So I took this from my chair by the kitchen window, with my booted foot carefully elevated on another chair.

The Bistro was very busy this morning with birds, squirrels and chipmunks all darting around. Good entertainment for the cats and I. I thought about posting a silly shot of a squirrel in one of my feeders but then I spotted a couple of American Goldfinches and had to go with one of them. It’s been about a month since I’ve seen a goldfinch in the garden.

Hubs pimped out my “ride” yesterday to surprise me - now every time I look at my knee roller I just laugh! He got a girls’ bike accessory kit with a bell, lighted basket and handlebar tassels, all in pink. Honestly, it’s so funny and was just the laugh I was needed yesterday. Quick shot in Extra.

My big accomplishment this morning was showering and washing my hair. It’s quite a production getting in the shower and onto my little stool and I can’t do it without Hubs’ assistance right now. Slow and steady.... Happily, my ascents and descents on the stairs are getting easier now. I use my triceps to hoist myself from one step to the next, traveling on my butt. I’m getting very quick, actually. Not dignified, but quick. I’ll take what I can get.

The gash on my right knee appears to be healing well and I can now bend the knee at a 45 degree angle without pain, which is a big improvement. Stitches come out Tuesday...progress.
