Old and new

Tidied and finished packing and off (in the rain) to Kings Cross.

As we waited for the taxi we were looking into a wall. Nondescript. ageing. Nothing special. See extra.

However, apparently, it is well over 200 years old and used to mark the boundary of central London. When development was undertaken some tears back the wall had to be partially demolished to allow access, but had to be rebuilt as before.

Kings Cross had changed since I was last in London. The modern exterior was in contrast to the magnificent St Pancras brick work. But internally the roof design was striking. And the flow of people much better managed.

While I was off working out where we were heading, my wife spotted Jack Whitehall and his dad heading off, no doubt to make a new show,

Then it was onto the train, which left on time, was not overcrowded and though it became a bit delayed made up the time. Pity the WiFi was intermittent and the sockets had no power. But it got us home in good time. The end of an exciting and enjoyable week.
