Flower Friday: Remembering 1963
Impeachment hearings, Fiona Hill, Ukraine, Russian meddling and Democratic debate news didn't leave much air left to remember the significance of today's date.
In 1963, I was in the 4th grade in my Catholic school when a nun ran into our classroom, her veil flying out behind her and an expression of horror on her face. She whispered something to our teacher, who then shared the stunning news. I remember praying for the soul of President Kennedy who had just been murdered.
It was one of the defining moments of my childhood. As we age, there are fewer and fewer of us for whom these national events/tragedies have significance.
