On the Argyll Flyer
Crossing the Firth of Clyde from Gourock to Dunoon on the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry "Argyll Flyer"....
Its just after 8am on a Friday morning towards the end of November and the sun is just rising above the hills behind Gourock. A cold morning. But a beautiful morning. Most people on the ferry are, probably, going to work. I'm heading for the peace, quiet and tranquility of Loch Eck... One of the first times I visited Dunoon was back in the spring of 1978 with my late father. We travelled on the old CalMac ferry "Maid of Cumbrae" from Gourock and I remember feeling quite sad as this was the "Maid of Cumbrae's" last year in service... Since then, I've travelled to Dunoon on "Juno", "Jupiter", "Saturn", "Pioneer", "Ali Cat", "Coruisk", "Waverley" and of course the wee "Argyll Flyer".... I wonder what my old dad would think of the "Argyll Flyer"......
