Busy Day

Had a busy day today. Got up early to set a slow cooker stew going for dinner. Did a litter pick - amazing how much recycling there was to pick up. Set the bread maker to make us a loaf for tea (or more accurately set 'A' to this task.) Baked this rich fruit cake - a bit of a cheat with my half price Waitrose kit! Then we went a nice walk in the cool air. Tea time now - always like to have a real high tea on a Sunday.

The cake seems to have turned out OK. I could not resist adding some more cherries into the mix. The fruit soaked in brandy was rather tasty. I have had the mixer for tens of years but always turn to my little electric hand mixer. Thought I'd better give the big one an airing today.
