The Countdown Begins!

My first Christmas carols of the season, and my second Mince Pie!

A cold, wet day, but inside the church we were all warm and cosy, getting into the festive spirit (the church looks a bit empty, but it wasn’t, everybody was sitting behind us). As two years ago, I was there to support my mum and her colleagues for the recording of the local Talking Newspaper's Christmas magazine, a mixture of carols, Christmas poems and readings. The team of volunteers provide a free service for approximately 100 visually impaired listeners, creating a weekly mixture of news and magazine articles. There was also a recorded message from KTN’s new patron, the comedian Bill Bailey, who grew up here in my home town.

It may seem early to be singing Christmas carols, but the recordings from today need to be edited, ready to be sent out to listeners on 11 December. After all that singing, it was time for Christmas Cake and Mince Pies!
