Things I Missed #3....

....being forced to having a reason to educate myself so I can explain the subject of one of my pics. Can’t tell you how many photographs I have of these things and never bothered to find out what they were and what they were called until I start to blip one.  

Anyway, these are the sporophyte of a moss.  

“A moss sporophyte consists of a spore-containing capsule, possibly sitting atop a stalk (called a setal)).”  The part of the moss that we typically think of as “moss” is called the gametophyte.
