Skipton Sing.
We were in Skipton this afternoon to sing with ATN Community Choir for the build up to the Christmas Lights switch on tonight.
The stage was pretty full but as you can see so was the closed off Main Street in front of it. (Eagle eyed blippers may spot Mambo just behind the pink hat!)
There had been lots of Santa’s in town earlier in the day for the Santa run, Wilsden Walker and Wendles56 amongst them. We returned home on the train with a couple too.
The whole of Skipton Main Street was taken over with stalls, brass bands and fun.
After our half hour of singing we hung around for a while to watch the young dancers, amongst them two of Mambo’s granddaughters. They did a wonderful balletic piece to Silent Night. We watched from the side as we couldn’t get anywhere near the front of the stage by then. Lovely to see them and to meet Mambo at last!
A good start to our singing season. Got the train back and we’re home before 5.00 which was the actual time of the ‘switch on’!
