Scafell Pike
A very big walking day which involved walking from the Eskdale Youth Hostel to the top of Scafell which is England's highest mountain. We made an 8am start and finished in darkness at 5pm.
It was a hard walk which involved 38,000 steps, a lot of height, difficult terrain and weather, with deep snow and high winds at the top. By the time I had finished I couldn't walk another step. This walk followed on after having climbed Snowdon and Benn Nevis with friends fairly
recently.
This is a photo of our descent, after having completed the really steep bit! We are walking through the amazing Eskdale valley.
The extras show some of the snow but not the deepest bit, as I couldn't get the camera out at that point. Also a river crossing.
