What's your type?
Helvetica, Univers or Futura? I can't quite identify this sign, but it is likely to be one of those ubiquitous and yet beautifully functional type faces that hail from Scandinavia.
I am reading a wonderful book all about fonts by Simon Garfield - 'What's Your Type?'. If you are at all interested in signage, letter forms or the history of the printed word, I would highly recommend it; wittily written, full of fascinating oddities and best of all, helps you to name the World around us.
I spotted this as I dashed today to a trainnig session on mentoring; I am a mentee on the hunt for a mentor who will supposedly help me traverse the tricky waters of career development!
Weirdly, it had the effect of helping me focus on all the other things I want to do at the moment (that aren't work related)...get back in touch with my agent and do some more commissioned illustration, decorate the flat, go part-time eventually, find a photography night class...probably do need to slow down a bit after all.
