In amongst the pohutukawa flowers
Yesterday one of the men involved in putting on the brackets to hold the new glass balustrades around the decks, said that he expected they would have the glass in by the end of the week. When I got back from work this afternoon, they have leant the glass panels for our deck against the barrier they built to protect us from clambering on the scaffolding, or falling off the edge of the deck. Perhaps they will meet that target of Friday.
I went to Western Springs Lake, and in the middle of taking photos of putangitangi (adults and fledglings), Australian Coot chicks, feral chickens, spoonbills, karuhiruhi, and even one goldfinch (out of focus), I saw a tui fly into a Pohutukawa, and searched for it.
I like how it is tucked in behind the foliage and flowers, and has pollen around its beak.
