I do love...
...a corridor, especially this one. This is the main corridor into the lovely Blakeney Hotel. All the reception rooms are decorated in a soft natural beige (see extra) but I couldn't help turning my photo into something a bit more dramatic with a 'film noir' filter.
Bev and I took our friend A for afternoon tea for her birthday, see https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2645773122644479688 for B's photo of the lounge.
We sunk into comfy sofas and watched the winter light slowly fading as darkness took over the marshes.
The waiter laid a white cloth on the low table between us, white china, teapots, individual 3-tiered cake stands, and all the necessary accompaniments were laid out in front of us. We then spent a happy two hours enjoying our delicate finger sandwiches, fresh scone complete with clotted cream and strawberry jam and a small selection of tiny delicate patisserie to finish. Our tea/coffee was replenished half-way through and the milk to go with my pot of coffee was served gently warmed. Just perfect.
We chatted away about this and that, didn't mention politics or Brexit once and had a most convivial and pleasant time. The pleasure of a leisurely afternoon tea with dear friends is not to be underestimated!
Thank you both for your excellent company and happy birthday A!
