River Wear and Durham Cathedral

Returned Cal back to Durham Uni safely. With the forecast snowstorm sweeping in from the NW we made an early start and motored without a stop. there were leaden skies all the way to the Cumbria/County Durham border on the A66 and then within minutes of crossing the High Pennines clear blue skies and sunshine. Outside temps as recorded by car dashboard was subzero all the way ranging from -3 to 0 C. Quick trun around unloading then lunch in cathedral undercroft restaurant then home. We hit the snow crossing back over the A66 on the high pennines. Part of me was quite excited by the prospect of the challenge of driving in the snow storm the other just wanted me to get home quick. Couple of useless facts; since Oct I've cover nearly 1000 miles back and forth the Durham; there are 19 roundabouts in 14 miles on the road from Bishop Auckland to Durham.
