The Norfolk Lights Express, Sheringham
Today was a day of two halves. Morning in the office, and the afternoon at an office team meeting, held in the norwich professional development centre about 2.5 miles from the office. Three of us decided to walk, and the rest of the office drove or got taxis! We did it in 45 minutes - almost all up the steep 'Ketts Hill'. It was over 5000 steps, so we did well.
Finished in 2 hours and walked back. I managed to get the bus at Anglia Square, although it was pretty late.
Jon had cooked dinner and it was ready almost as soon as I got home. The boys went out to their jujitsu (I still dont know how to spell it!)
We had heard about the Norfolk Lights Express, running between Sheringham and Holt, daily from now until Christmas, although on further investigation discovered all tickets are sold out already! No worries,, with date night ahead of us, we decided to head out along its route to try to get a photo. We just missed it at Weybourne, as it steamed into the distance. So we drove on back towards Sheringham and stopped on the road near a bridge. We sat and waited. We listened to the Archers and looked at the stars. We had 40 minutes to kill. Then it arrived. WITHOUT its lights on!!! I was seriously cross. Then, as it went off into the distance, the lights went on. I tried to get a photo (see my extra for the arty version of what I wanted) but it was blurred. Back in the car and raced to Sheringham, catching it as it came into the station. The station itself looks beautiful, so I've added a photo of it before the train arrived.
Satisfied with a photo good enough to blip, we came home!! An interesting date night, but we were together and that was the important thing!!
