Warrnambool hospital

After 61.5 kms of riding, I arrived at the lunch stop to find the medical team working on one of our students. He was struggling to breathe. He has no respiratory issues, so it was unexpected. We ended up racing to hospital. He improved in the ambulance, but was kept in hospital for observation.

We were stranded 100 kms from our campground in cycling gear and with phones getting low on charge.

Eventually, after many phone calls and my student falling asleep on the table in the hospital cafeteria, we were picked up by the Great Vic team and deposited at camp. Our team had put up our tents and we slept very well.

A long day when you’re up at 4:30, to hit the sack at 10:45 pm.
