On the way home
after visiting the village library. In recent years following the withdrawal of the mobile library a small group set about forming a new library in the village hall. Many books have been donated and every so many months Argyll and Bute council send boxes of books to lend out thereby renewing some of the stock for regular borrowers. When in there today I spotted a large Ikea bag full of books recently donated, another example of a community getting on despite council and government cuts.
The library is open for two hours on a Tuesday morning, during the first hour the children from the village school visit later followed by locals who can indulge in coffee, cake and a chat.
Extra: these two scallywags are about to formerly join our little gang.
