Orange New York

On upper Madison Avenue, after a visit to an excellent  exhibition of paintings and drawings by Man Ray (1890-1976).  He was a American but spent most of his life in Paris, working mostly in a surrealist  mode (although never formally part of the movement). He played a key  role in the early development of Berenice Abbott  (1898-1991), my favorite American photographer of the last  century. Her work assisting Man Ray in Paris  from 1923  provided the impetus for her career in photography.
