1 a round plane figure whose boundary (the circumference) consists of points equidistant from a fixed point (the center).
2 something in the shape of such a figure: the Tangelo slice was a circle shape
(Tangelo was from the tree in my backyard)
ORIGIN Old English, from Old French cercle, from Latin circulus 'small ring,' diminutive of circus 'ring.'
