Decorations against the dreich

The weather has been so poor in Edinburgh over the past few days that I felt obliged to seek out my new American PhD student this morning and make an apology for it. This decorated hostel (yes, hostel!) on my route to work was welcome in today's low fog and gloom.

Today I submitted a (small) grant proposal, wrote a lecture, agreed to write a document for REF2021, held two PhD supervision meetings, attended two research project meetings, and joined in the social evening for Masters students. Meanwhile the emails started stacking up again - aaargh!

Exercise today: walking (13,907 steps).
