THE COOL TOOLS

This is the one I was talking about yesterday. You can see the V-shaped blade protruding beneath the shoe. The curved piece of rosewood is my addition - it enables me to tap it along with my little plastic 'dead-head' hammer.- another cool tool!

A 'dead-head' hammer has a cylinder in the head 1/3 filled with lead shot which gives it the advantage of stopping "dead" at the tap - it doesn't rebound.

Plus, being softish plastic it doesn't wreck old varnish!
