Fungus

My woodland conservation work has taught me not to be too tidy in the garden because decomposing bits of old tree provide a habitat for lots of  insects and fungi. 
This old log is by the garage door. Pleased to be giving something white and spindly, a home. Internet research reveals it to be candlesnuff. The things you learn through Blip!
