at last ......

After almost 4 months the windows are finally in.  

So many things have contributed to the delays on the site.  The latest involves the gas supplier.  They want to install a new gas pipe to one of the other houses; this means digging up the road and closing the site.  No one can get in or out till they finish.

The engineers arrived and start digging.  Then they realise they've not actually brought the gas pipe with them.  So they pack up and go home.

Another day they arrive with said pipe and continue digging.  Then they realise they've not actually brought a gas meter with them.  So work stops again.

It takes three separate days to complete the job.  

But .... it is what it is.  This is my mantra.  Other folks are having far worse problems.  We're not homeless.

The builders reckon we'll be eating our Christmas dinner in the new house.  Luckily its an electric oven.  We know the electricity works.
