Scat Ness

The 03:30 alarm in Oxford can seem like a bit of challenge - but when it means that I'm wandering in the sunshine on Scat Ness at the south end of Shetland mainland by midday, the challenge is worthwhile.  

It would, however, be a mistake to assume that the sunshine meant much warmth - the wind was coming straight from the north, and when rain did fall it had a distinctly sleety flavour.
