Subaru

Technically not a photograph, it's a stack of 50 exposures of 30 seconds each. This allows for the teasing out of faint detail that otherwise couldn't be seen.
As we've had a clear night here in the North West I thought I'd make the most of it. Last night's efforts weren't very good as I hadn't set up the tracking mount very accurately! Much better tonight and I'm off out again shortly.
Subaru is the Japanese name for this cluster of stars, known more commonly as the Seven Sisters or the Pleiades. It's easily visible with the unaided eye and is one of the winter night sky gems!
