The potential games that I had lined up for my Saturday afternoon entertainment were frozen off so I headed for the safety of Ilkley Town's 4G pitch which is rain and frost proof. Ilkley were hosting East End Park in the  West Yorkshire League Cup second round; Ilkley are riding high at the top end of the Premier Division, while East End Park play one below in the First.

The superiority of the home team was evident throughout, but East End Park made it difficult and it was only 1-0 at the break. In the second half Ilkley forward Tom Smith proved irrepressible, scoring four more to end with a personal tally of five goals for the match and a 5-0 scoreline.
