Venetian light
Today we drove down to Harrogate in Yorkshire for the memorial service for R’s ( future son in law) beloved gran who sadly died 2 weeks ago. The service was beautiful and moving and a fitting closure for a long and happy life , well lived.
His parents had been very keen for us to stay and arranged for us to stay with friends of whom the husband is an artist and currently has an exhibition on in the house ( a tall thin townhouse - our room is on the 5th floor under the eaves). His paintings are all Mediterranean scenes , primarily Italy , Venice and the Balearic Islands. They are simply stunning! Done in pastels and so full of light and movement. We may have to raid the piggy bank as we have a blank wall in need of a painting at home! And it WOULD be a raid! I hope he wouldn’t mind my sharing this image but guess as he has it on the website it’s fine. This one is already sold however :)
