The Old Man of Coniston

Another perfect winter's day today with wall to wall sunshine and no wind.  The ground was frozen hard with thick hoar frost wherever the sun had not reached. Today we walked a circular route through Yewbarrow Wood before climbing up to the Hampsfell Hospice and then descending the ridge back to our home.  The views were beautiful with just a little smoke haze mostly to the south.  The picture is looking northwards from near the Hospice towards the Coniston range.
