Advent moon
It struck me this afternoon that this must be one of the most romantic views to greet people coming out of a venue after an entertainment. Our choir, 8+1, had been singing at an afternoon tea put on by the Friends of Benmore Gardens as their Christmas party for this year - we've done it before when it's been an evening gig, but they decided to change the event so that people weren't having to make their way there in the dark. "There" is Benmore Gallery, at the far end of the gardens from the main entrance, and we came out from the noise and the lights to these wonderful tree silhouettes and the little crescent moon and the silence and the frost.
It's been a full day - the first Sunday of Advent has its liturgical fixtures in our church, which include singing the Advent Prose (Mr PB does that) and Lo He Comes - that last verse, played on the new organ, had me singing with an enthusiasm that was unwise given that we had a concert to do later.
I love Advent.
