If you go back to my Blip of 13 December you will see the bricky building a pillar at the end of the neighbours' wall. Well that all went well and said brick pier was duly completed. Then last week a rat running lorry cut over the pavement and knocked it down!
These houses face on to a narrow two-way street next to a school and there is rat-running chaos at school start and home time. Cars and lorries jam up and the drivers swear and curse each other. On one level its quite entertaining.
Anyway, the dear neighbour said the red mist came down when she found her destroyed brick wall and so contacted our MP. And this friday IDS is coming to visit. Leaving politics aside, IDS is a good constituency MP and takes an interest in these things.
The local paper was duly informed and when their reporter and photographer came round today we posed for a picture. Then Jeremy, our brilliant postie, came by and we had to get him in too.
Will the road problem ever get sorted out? As we are right on the border between two London Boroughs it seems unlikely somehow. But I hope to be proved wrong!
