Watching . . .

So quiet and still today.  Most of the time in Orkney there is some wind, and then suddenly you notice that it is quiet - the wind has dropped and it is an altogether more gentle place.

Lottie and I took advantage of it this morning and went for a wander round the bay.  As well as the seals, there are a lot of ducks about, fourteen mergansers paddled past the house before we left.  

That's a thing about living by the sea, it's never the same two days running!
