The day....

That Katie played her bassoon for royalty.

I don’t have words to express how incredible my tiny human has been and what a special, amazing opportunity this was for her. Today she played a beautiful solo programme at the Future Talent 15th Birthday celebration, in front of Katherine, Duchess of Kent. The concert was in the ballroom of the stunning Landsdowne Club in Mayfair. She was even asked to blow out the birthday candles. Such a special, special night. Uncle Simon came and couldn’t believe her, she was delighted to have him there. She really held her own musically despite being 5 years younger than everyone else. She was fabulous. And absolutely on cloud nine when we left.  

Truly, one of the highlights of my life with her so far. She worked so hard for this and absolutely pulled it out the bag. She’d had a lesson via FaceTime with B in Singapore. She’d had a stunning accompanist rehearsal. She’d run laps of Berkeley Square to burn off some energy and then she’d come back, put her big girl head on and just shone. Lots of extras today.....including me in a frock!
