The Rookery: Jumping Jay
Dodgier in large
I went to The Rookery on Streatham Common in the early afternoon; the sun was out, but it was bitterly cold so I didn't stay for very long... I thought that I'd be posting a robin (after finding quite a few friendly posers in the walled garden), but then found that someone had left peanuts (monkey nuts...) on the pavement by the car park... The pigeons were interested but couldn't get through the shells, but the squirrels and corvids were much more successful, and it was a treat to see the jays up close as they're rarely very visible in town... They mostly just swooped, grabbed, and zoomed off, so it was a focussing challenge.
Others here (or right from Backlit feathers?)
