Secret Weapon

Thankfully I slept well last night and was up, dressed and breakfasted before the power was switched off about 9.30am. Luckily it was quite bright this morning so I absconded to the craft room and made a few Christmas cards and my December birthday cards. A late lunch at the garden centre with my daughter...and a mooch about, then back home to my book, eventually by torchlight! Power finally came back on about 5ish.

I believe the story behind Elf on the Shelf is that he’s been sent by Santa from the North Pole to check the kids are being well behaved in the run up to Christmas. He goes back each night to report and on his return usually gets up to some mischief before the kids wake up. My kids are way too old now but I’ve no doubt that many a harassed Mum/Dad use this Secret Weapon to keep order at home this time of year!

Eldest headed home on Saturday before I could give him his advent calendar...seems someone needed some help to work, rest and play!
