Fan Tail

Late on a cloudy afternoon, the ice-blue calm water looked quite surreal with the mirrored reflection of reeds fanning out to produce a slightly disconcerting optical illusion. Only a log in the water disrupts the duplicity and the balance of the image is further thrown by having the weight of the reeds all on one side

I feel the imbalance is in contrast to an otherwise calm feeling, giving the image an edge that makes it more interesting.
