A day at home
They came and rewired the stair today. Huge length of zinc conduits, lots of plaster dust and mess and noise and drilling and sturdy young men in hi-visibility jackets.
They switched the electricity off at 9:30 and put it back on again at 3:30. So no heating, no lighting, no nothing. But I couldn't go out because I needed to give them access. So I sat and sewed and listed to an audio book on my phone (no internet).
Once the electricity was back on I put the heating on and started mince and tatties for tea.
We don't know how lucky we are.
This bloke was cutting kerb stones as I popped out to Greggs for a pastie at lunch.
