Moffatt
Off this morning on the first 101 bus to Moffatt in order to spend a few hours in this little town which I haven't visited for at least a decade.
I lost my companions in the first five minutes. not intentionally but I got diverted by a little shop full of interesting bits and pieces and simply had to search every wee nook and crannie until I remembered my friends and just couldn't see them. I wasn't alone in blame as one of them tends rather to wander up and along every little lane and street and the other follows after. I sleuthed that they may well be in a charity shop and went there but, no, just me there. I did find a cotton tubular scarf that I realised would make great leg warmers if I cut them so purchased it for £1.
What would we do without mobile phones. I tracked them down and took them to the other little shop. There I bought a leather ladies two bowls case for £3 which will be a sweet little art bag.
My very good soup was £2.80 and so, although I don't usually buy, I just look, I didn't spend too much on that delightful day trip.
It didn't rain and there was no frost. There was an ice factor in a gentle wind but I was wrapped up warmly enough.
