WHO OR WHAT TICKLED MR. HCB?

Mr. HCB and I had a lovely Blipmeet today with Evolybab when she visited us in Swindon.

Unlike Blipmeets that others have, we don’t traipse around looking for wonderful things to Blip but ours today started with a lovely meal at a local carvery - and very nice it was too - I enjoyed my first roast potatoes for about six months and although I took two, I gave Mr. HCB one of them - guess I’ve just lost the taste after so long.

We then went back to our home and sat in the conservatory chatting and enjoying one another’s company - the sun was shining and it was a very pleasant hour.  Of course, we had to have the obligatory “selfie” so here it is and it looks as if someone has “tickled” Mr. HCB!  Actually, both he and Evolybab were telling me to stop taking selfies, because I was pressing the volume button on my earbuds so much and took at least twenty or thirty shots - now that is overkill!

Then it  was time to take Evolybab back to the station but not before we had had a visit from our lovely neighbour, Lynn, so we had a few minutes of chat and laughter with her.  Evolybab and I promised to meet up again soon and might even surprise some of our Northern Blip friends in 2020 by visiting them for a Blipmeet.  Doesn’t time go quickly when you’re enjoying yourself?

Door number 3 on my Advent Calendar supported the Send a Cow charity and said : “Today you have provided a mother in Zambia with vegetable seeds so she can grow food for her children.”  That’s got to be better than stuffing our faces with chocolates or gin and definitely gave us a warm fuzzy feeling knowing we had helped someone we will never know or see, despite a journalist yesterday denigrating such calendars.

When we were chatting this afternoon, we all agreed that giving, especially to those less fortunate, should be what Christmas is all about - but sadly, many only think of “getting” rather than “giving”, but we continue to hope for change in our world.

At the end of the day,
it's not about what you have
          or even what you've accomplished.....
it's about what you've done
     with those accomplishments.
It’s about who you've lifted up,
     who you've made better.
It’s about what you've
     given back"

P.S.  Many thanks for all your lovely comments, stars and hearts for my frosted Rudbeckia yesterday - which made it to Page 2 of the Popular page.  We had a great time at the Christmas Fair, but were very tired when we got home, so I apologise for not commenting last night.
