Here's LyndseyJ's PhD thesis, which she successfully defended this morning. Lyndsey gave a great performance. She is only required to complete some minor corrections to the work submitted in August, and then she will be able to graduate as Dr Middleton at our summer graduation ceremony. I am, of course, a very proud supervisor. (I first met Lyndsey when we interviewed her for her PhD studentship on 14th May 2015.)

This news eclipses everything else today - even my Catan win this evening. My competition was Mr hazelh and our friend Nick (the bloke on the right in this earlier blip). Nick is currently in Edinburgh on business for a couple of days.

Exercise today: walking (16,844 steps).
