Into White
So a lot of the U.K. woke today to experience snow falling and lying, but not in Ellon.
So any chance of relaxing day off was put aside when I was asked by my brother-in-law, Ray, to go in and help him clear out a room in another of my brother-in-laws', house, so that when he gets home from hospital, he can get straight to bed if he needs to.
So off I went into Aberdeen, and found that there was indeed sufficient snow lying to understand what the fuss was about.
By the time we had finished, and I had popped into ASDA for some stuff, the frozen rain had been continuous in it's relentless journey to the ground, that everything had turned into white, and thus severley delaying my journey back home.
It can usually take me 15-20 minutes to complete the trip, but since people panic when they see a bit of the white stuff, and leave their work early, it took me around 1 3/4 hours, most of it trying to get out of Dyce, a section of the road which is no more that a couple of kilometers in length.
So the only blipping I managed to do was whilst sitting in the practically non moving traffic, of the trees seen here.
And, yes, by the time I got home, it was just as white here too.
I also missed the last pick up from the local post box today, so our eldest grandson's 18th birthday card will be a day late.
Oh well, he probably won't be at his Mum's tomorrow anyway.
