Winter's Buttercups
Or more correctly, Winter Aconites, which I love. They emerge at about the same time as the snowdrops (galanthus) & spring snowflakes (leucojum) & spread themselves about creating a carpet of yellow. If you organise the garden properly you get a beautiful patchwork of white @ yellow which cheers things up no end. In my garden its more of a random event, but these little things are just as hardy as snowdrops as you can see and along with the other two really give me something to look forward to in January.
