Rivers 'Torch Walk'

Today's Google Doodle celebrates the wellie. I celebrate them too - I seldom wear anything else. The accompanying blurb mentions Hunters. The Hunter Argyll wellington for ladies used to be my favourite but is no longer available. :( Hunters are not the same now that they are manufactured in China. I now wear French wellies. Long Aigles and short ones from Le Chameau.

I took MrQ to the Rivers hospital this evening for another eye injection to combat his Age Related Macular Degeneration. While he was being treated I, in my wellies, and Ollie dog went exploring in the dark. We walked through the woods full of rabbits and muntjac deer into the ancient and famous orchard. I remember my granny talking about Early Rivers plums that were bred here.
