Old Shiel Bridge
As promised (or maybe threatened), it's been pretty awful weather today. Persistently wet (until the last hour or so) and latterly quite windy. I think many ferries were disrupted.
Undaunted we headed out this morning, thinking perhaps even to get as far as Ardnamurchan Lighthouse. We were derailed by the suggestion by the man running a cafe in Strontian that we went to Castle Tioram. Top idea. G and L loved the place, and found it really magical even though the tide was in so we couldn't get across to the castle. Never mind. We pottered along the beach, taking a few photos, and then headed back to Tioram Cafe for snack lunch. After that, I pronounced myself "done", and we headed back to the cottage, and by that time it was absolutely chucking it down. It would have been a waste of time trying to get to the lighthouse. We would have seen nothing and got soaked for our pains.
My turn to cook this evening. There haven't been any complaints. In fact, there were generally no complaints at all, until L opened his bottle of Laphraoig and discovered that this cottage lacks any suitable glasses for drinking whisky in. How very odd indeed.
Fingers crossed Mr A gets here tomorrow. He has a few transport hurdles to jump, but everything should go fine.
