Nuts!

"Good. Now that I have your attention, I want more, and keep them coming!"

This Jay is a regular to the parents garden. It has developed a taste for ground nuts, which my Dad is to blame for. I spent an hour or so watching the corvid fly backwards and forwards grabbing them, pinning them, then breaking into them, only to fly off to stash them somewhere. It really is a beautiful bird, and certainly up there with the the also resident Greater Spotted Woodpecker. Back when I was growing up here, the Jays used to be plentiful. Only now are they reappearing in very small numbers.
